Legolas' Poem

Prince of Mirkwood, Legolas Greenleaf
I ride swift to Imladris
The Lord Elrond holds Council
I act as King Thraunduil's Envoy
My Father takes counsel in his own Lands
Darkness consumes us all.

With Bow and Arrow I defend my friends
With deathly skill I slay my foes
I fight beside the Horse-Lords
To defend a Country I do not know
But against the Dark Lord
Everything is everyone's.

The Final Battle comes
It All rests on this
I who cannot die fight with those who are
We drive the Evil from the City of Kings
But it is not done yet
The Battle of the Black Gate must come.

The Ring is Destroyed
The Dark Lord is Done
The King is Crowned
The World is finally safe
But he Age of Men has come
And the Elves are Leaving.
